Have I mentioned already that we signed up for the extended season with our CSA? It will run for six weeks following the end of the regular 20-week season in October. Looking forward to winter squashes, brussel sprouts, potatoes, etc. in addition to many of the "summery" vegetables that they have going in a greenhouse. :)
Here was our bag from August 14th:
Contents: sweet corn, potatoes, yellow squash and zucchini, peppers, onion, green beans, zebra and plum tomatoes. And the fruit was a sugar baby watermelon. So sweet!
For breakfast this weekend, I used the loaf of cranberry orange bread that we got in our bag last week to make French Toast! Yum! (I like to add a touch of vanilla to my egg batter.)
No other pictures this week, but on the menu were:
2) Giada's simple bolognese sauce (Sophie's dinner request)
3) burgers on the grill (Will's dinner request)
4) banana quinoa waffles and tropical lassi for 1st day of school breakfast
