A Blissfully Relaxing Weekend

The weekend before school started was so perfectly relaxed and casual, I didn't want it to end.  Craig worked 7-5 on Saturday and then went to a Nascar race on a friend's free ticket on Sunday from about 10-5 or so.  So for most of the time, it was just the kids and I enjoying a beautiful weekend with awesome weather and nothing on the agenda (except our mother/son date on Saturday evening when Craig got home).  We had our usual big breakfast on Saturday, washed laundry and hung it out on the line, tended the garden, visited the library, ate picnic lunches outside, blew bubbles, rode bikes, read books, did some baking and hung out.  Sunday morning, we ate our breakfast (muffins and smoothies) on the front porch in our bath robes with a small pile of books.  The kids were very good and played nicely together, and we just had such a nice weekend of "down time".
These are all pictures from Sunday.

When Craig returned from the race, we took the kids to the elementary school to ride bikes in the parking lot (it's so nice to have a wide open space for them to ride further and faster) and play on the playground.

While climbing on this ladder-like structure, Sophie gave her daddy a smooch in between each opening as she moved from one side to the other.  :)
Craig about to make himself sick from dizziness on this crazy spinning toy.

Another spinning toy.

The next two pictures are of the kids doing pull-ups. :)

My turn on the makes-you-wanna-puke-machine.  Ugh.
Tether ball and then home for supper!

The mornings were cooler and then the days turned pretty warm this weekend.  You can tell fall is coming and days like this always remind of back-to-school weather.
