NOON Year's Eve

We spent the morning of New Year's Eve at my grandparents house, visiting, playing a game and having lunch.  Will received a new game called Brain Quest for Christmas and we decided to give it a try.  It was really fun!  And educational to boot.

Will was most often the designated question reader.
Sophie helped grandma set the table for lunch and we ate a cabbage roll casserole with some peas and bread and butter that I brought over.  We missed an extended family outing to New Riegel for ribs for grandpa's birthday recently so I wanted to bring them a meal and visit.  I soooo love spending time with my grandparents.
Grandma has some sparkling grape juice to go with our meal and we toasted NOON Year's Eve together!
The kids loved the special treat of drinking from an adult wine glass.  :)  And yes, we did bring Sophie's t-shirt-sleeve-headband along.  ;)

Cheers!

We made it home for nap time before making our way to the Munoz home for further celebrations in the evening.  I tried out a fun new recipe to take along with us for the occasion.  Details to follow...

Sledding

Our multi-annual, winter-time pilgrimage to Grandma & Papa Riedeman's house to sled down the hill behind their pond after the first snowfall:

There was a lot of this going on for Sophie.  Apparently, eating the snow is a far greater novelty then sledding on it.

Good times.
I thought for sure Will would be "too big" for this hill this year, but he still loved it!  Up and down and up and down he went like a little champ.  We're definitely going to try Maumee Bay's sledding hill this year, but happy to know our little starter hill hasn't been outgrown yet.  :)

InstaFriday

Happy Friday!!

The Lionel Train set up around Grandma & Papa's Christmas tree.
My rockin' Saturday night...  Making green goddess dip and cutting up kohlrabi and broccoli and other veggies for upcoming Christmas parties.  Try not to be too jealous.
Mug of homemade dark chocolate cocoa.  Yuuuummmmm!!!
Essie's Smokin' Hot nail polish.  My dad thinks I've "gone goth".  Haha!
Haha!  Unplanned twinkies.  It's been such a blissfully lazy morning this Christmas Eve morn.
Sophie marching through the neighborhood like a boss.  Our pre-nap time walk on Christmas Eve day and it wasn't even sunny.  But the shades were a must.  :)
Prepping strawberry yogurt cake, a.k.a. baby Jesus's birthday cake this year, for the kiddies to sing and eat on Christmas Day at Nana's.
Cinnamon swirl French toast casserole prepped for Christmas morning breakfast.
Sophia on Christmas Eve.
Will on Christmas Eve.
Putting our plate out with some homemade love for the big guy.
Craig and I wrapped up our Christmas Eve preparations reasonably early and then relaxed together for a bit.    We exchanged just one gift between us before going to bed.  Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
Craig and I had these Mexi omelets along with our French toast casserole for breakfast on Christmas morning.  I love the summer-ish combo of corn, diced tomatoes and green onion.
One of my gifts from Craig.
The back says "est. 1997" when he asked me to be his girlfriend.  :)
Playing Telestrations with the fam on Christmas Day.
Sophie pouring me a spot of tea.  She also baked me some cookies and "put some butter on my cookie" just before serving it to me.  ???
Chicken noodle soup for dinner on this cozy evening.  The kind thick enough to be stew.
The new Play Doh toys are a huge hit!  Great present Uncle T & Uncle Z!!
It would appear I'm supporting the Irish today with my blue and gold.  ;)  (Essie Good as Gold)  I'm actually pretty indifferent to the game results.  :)
Our snow removal team.

Another pic of our steak kabobs for dinner.
See you next Friday!
