A Baby Shower

Baby girl Cecilia Mae is on her way! Her expected arrival is end of March so the clock is ticking for Kelly and Steve to finish up on their house (they've been in the building process since last summer) just in time to bring home their new baby daughter. So their friends and family all came out for a baby shower to help them fill up the nursery.

The mother-to-be at nearly 34 weeks. Kelly's lucky to be tall - her long torso allows more room and a smaller belly. ;)
Opening gifts. Kelly's cousin made this cow-print sweater and hat set. Perfect for a veterinarian's daughter!

A super cute (& funny) pic of Kelly's little helper, Hannah, throwing away some wrapping paper scraps. She nearly fell in!
Some sassy leopard print booties...
Sophia watches the gift opening in grandma's lap.
Aww... Shame on you grandma! Reading porn to a baby? Hehe. This book is totally G-rated, (okay, maybe PG) but it is soooo funny. If you're looking for a clever baby shower gift, check out this book.

Kelly & I
There were several preggos at Kelly's shower, including her friends Angie (left) at 36 weeks and Susie (right) at 4.5 months. Susie is expecting TRIPLETS this summer! Holy cow!
Sophia, Stella and Mya put everyone in a baby-love mood. :)
This is a good picture of that point I was making in Sophie's 10 month post about how they love to see each other. They were all very touchy, babbly, smiley when Sophie arrived.

My best girlfriends.
Sophia with her Godmother
Sophie's looking forward to meeting her new cousin Cecilia!
While we were at the shower, the father-to-be (Steve) enjoyed lunch with all the guys at a sports bar for a diaper party. Craig attended the diaper party and my brother Taylor and his girlfriend Amanda came to sit with Will at our house for the afternoon. Thank you Taylor and Amanda!
Amanda and Will played all kinds of things together and apparently exercised their imaginations! When I walked in, Will told me they were baking "tomato cookies" (pretend) and that the Bumbo seat was his new "blue helmet". LOL

Whew! Okay, I think I'm caught up for now. What a busy weekend!

A Twin Baby Shower

Are these ladies pregnant?

You betcha!

Someone joked that you couldn't tell from behind, so we took a picture for fun.

The shower was a huge success... literally! We set out 88 chairs based on our RSVP's (only those that said "no" for sure) and 87 were filled! What an awesome turn out! The shower was LAST weekend (March 21st) but I'm just now getting around to posting since then.

Casey finally got to announce the gender of the little babies in her belly... dun, da, da, da:

TWIN GIRLS!!!

Mya Alyse and Stella Grace will be welcomed into our family in just 2-2.5 months! At her last doctor visit, the girls weighed 3# and 2# 12oz respectively at just 28 weeks. So they are right on target, if not a little big for their gestational age, which is wonderful news. Casey is doing awesome. She looks so beautiful and already has maternal glow about her.

Family and friends were so very generous and Casey received nearly everything on their registry.

Now they just need a little more storage space at home! The nursery is soooo adorable - all sage green and brown with dark wood furniture and a classy, bunny theme.

Wes also celebrated with all the men at a diaper party given at my parents house, so they're loaded down with diapers now too.

Casey and I are so excited that our daughters will be so close in age. What an awesome gift from God. They will grow up together and go to school together. We couldn't be more excited.

The beloved stacking cups

If there was ever a toy that could top the phone or the remote, it is the stacking cups. They are by far Will's most favorite toy right now.

Ah, the stacking cups. With their sleek lines, bright colors and graduating sizes, they nest so nicely together and stack so beautifully into a perfect tower. You can scoop and pour water in the bath tub or water table, carry them around, bang them together and give long spans of attention (read: 15-20 minutes - an eternity in baby time) to just taking them apart and putting them back together. The possibilities are endless!

We have several video clips and pictures of Will playing with his stacking cups. He looks so happy and excited when they're stacked up... so much so that he's afraid to touch them. So he just smiles at it and his hands just hover around the tower in anticipation. It's so funny. Craig's teaching Will to carefully pluck the purple one from the top without knocking it over. But sometimes he just can't resist the two in the middle. :)

Oh, and here are some funny pictures of Will eating lasagna and broccoli. I was surprised he liked it considering he's not a fan of cheese... or tomato... or certain pastas. :) By the end of it, he had a lasagna facial going.

Also, sorry for the long span of time without posting pictures. It's been a busy week and weekend! On Sunday we had Kelly's bridal shower, so most of my weekend was consumed with party stuff. Here's a photo at the shower.

And later Sunday evening, we finally got to relax for the first time that weekend by going to dinner at our friends home. Two of Craig's best friends from high school are each married with one child - just like us. So it was fun to catch up with them and see how each of the kids have grown... and how each child looks JUST LIKE THEIR DAD! It seems us girls didn't have very strong genes!
