What We're Reading

Sophie & I, heading out to the library on a rainy Saturday morning.
We've kept this set for two weeks since we never made it out to the library last weekend.
Top to bottom:
I Love You Always and Forever by Jonathan Emmett
My First Hike by Catherine Maria Woolf
Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson
Little Critter: Just Critters Who Care by Mercer Mayer
I Broke My Trunk! by Mo Willems
I Love You, Stinky Face by Lisa McCourt
Saturdays and Teacakes by Lester Laminack
Looking for a Moose by Phyllis Root
Going to Town (My First Little House) by Laura Ingalls Wilder
The Deer in the Wood by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Callie Cat, Ice Skater by Eileen Spinelli
Shiver Me Letters: A Pirate ABC by June Sobel
The Lord's Prayer by Rick Warren
City Dog, Country Frog by Mo Willems
Thesaurus Rex by Laya Steinberg
The Princess and the Pizza by Mary Jane Auch
Blue Bowl Down by C.M. Millen
LMNO Peas by Keith Baker

How cute is this title?
Each page depicts Mr. Rex doing some activity with a series of similar verbs written on the page. Such a clever way to introduce this idea to kids!

And I LOOOOVE the illustrations in this children's book of The Lord's Prayer. So very beautiful (scroll down for examples). This was actually for sale in the Scholastic reader this month but I borrowed it from the library instead. My only hesitation with purchasing this in the future is that the exact wording used in the book is not the same as what we say in our church. Not sure if that might be confusing to the kids.
But, seriously... aren't these beautiful?

Looking forward to a new week and a new group of books that I can't wait to do some activities with.
Have you read any good books recently?
