How can you resist Elmer, the cute, funny, patchwork elephant?
Craig's aunt bought this book for Will on his first Christmas and we even received a small, plush Elmer stuffed animal to go with it! Both kids enjoyed hearing it again this weekend. While they were napping, I prepared a work station at the table for us to create our own Elmer elephants using contact paper and tissue paper. Then we read the book again and got to work. I helped Sophie a little more in the beginning and she seemed to grasp the idea of what patchwork looked like, whereas Will placed the squares very sporadically and let them overlap more. They both turned out super cute I think!
