Connectagons Are the New Lego

I love this toy.
We bought them for Will for his 3rd birthday and we pull them out every so often to build a new creation. I prefer not to leave them out while Sophie is so young and... um... destructive.
Each piece is a thin wooden disc with eight slots on the edges to connect them in an infinite number of ways.
240 of these little discs come in a wooden storage crate with a sliding top lid.You know how I'm partial to "play based learning" toys...
They're pretty much all I buy. If it's not educational and/or open-ended, it seems kinda' pointless to spend money on... especially given our limited storage space.
This toy won an Oppenheim Best Toy Award.

One day, I'd like to compile all of the discs into one big masterpiece. :)
So fun!

What is one of your favorite educational/imaginative/open-ended toys?

Super cute and a good idea for me for a bday gift for Lyla :) Lyla loves playing with simple stuff.. pipe cleaners keep her busy in church haha, and at home we do play doh (she insists on calling it tomato), and painting often... she loves her little blocks as well as instruments. If we have guests over she'll hand an instrument to every person to play in the band! ha Not neccessarily all the most "open ended" things but that's what she's into!
