Quick Question:
How good are/were all of you at letting your kids make a mess in the kitchen in the name of learning? :)
Will wanted to make some cookies Wednesday night and I (in my chocolate-craving state) gladly obliged him. So he measured, whisked, cracked and dumped...
and made a huge mess!
I try to expose him to food prep as often as I can 'cause it's important to me that my kids know their way around a kitchen. BUT! It totally goes against my instincts not to just take over when:
1) egg white is oozing down between the crack of my counter and stove
2) flour is whisked right out of the mixing bowl
3) the stand mixer is turned on too fast, too quickly throwing sugar all over the place
Ahhh!!!
On the bright side, the chocolate chip oatmeal cookies (Aunt Cathy's recipe) were delish! :)

It depends on my mood whether or not I'm bothered by a little mess in the kitchen from my "helper." Sometimes I am guiding his hand with everything, and other times I could care less.
