The Kids At A Glance

Ahh ha! Remember that Leap Frog globe I got Craig (sort of as a joke, sort of serious) one Christmas before the kids were born? Well it's been sitting on Will's toy shelf since we made his big boy room into a map theme and it just never got much attention. He's suddenly totally into it now and loves locating Ohio. He's also been very into learning cardinal directions lately and knows when looking at a "compass rose" (he likes that term) that N, S, E, W stand for North, South, East and West. He also knows that Nana lives east of our house. :)
And poor Sophie took a little spill at our friend's house on Sunday. She was carrying around a plastic tea cup and when she caught her fall, the bottom of the cup scraped her forehead. It was totally a surface scrape with no bleeding and she didn't even cry. Our friend just helped her up and she scrunched her nose a little and looked mildly upset/confused. Throughout the evening it got more and more red and a little goose-egg-looking. Now she has a 1" long scab on her forehead that we're just treating with Neosporin. Poor baby.
And that was "the kids at a glance". Click here for a previous glance.

If you want to teach him the order of the compass rose I tell my kids to remember "Never Eat Soggy Wheat" or north - east - south - west! They never forget that one!
