Really? Already?

It's been my plan to get Will his first backpack for preschool for his 3rd birthday. But I never realized that when it arrived, I would just be floored by the idea of my little boy actually wearing a backpack, let alone dressed and anxious for his first day of school. I almost cried and it definitely gave me a nostalgic pause. How did this year arrive so quickly? I mean, we still have the summer, but look how time flies! Will turns 3 in just two weeks so I went ahead and ordered the backpack from L.L.Bean that I've been eyeing for quite some time. His favorite color is red and I liked the fact that I could add his initials on the front. I think he'll think that's cool. I like to keep it simple (not a fan of characters plastered all over everything) and the quality of L.L.Bean stuff is just so good. This is the Junior Original Book Pack designed for littler kids.
While I'm on the subject of raving about L.L.Bean, I have to put in a plug about my very favorite slippers for kids. I highly recommend them! Will is on his third pair because we keep buying the next bigger size to keep him in them. This is Sophie's first pair. The smallest size they offer is 3/4. They're leather (non-slip) on the bottom, super soft all around, and cuff at the ankle to keep them on. LOVE them!

Not to mention, we've also enjoyed their fleece-lined hooded sweatshirts, a rain jacket, several fleeces (both lightweight and heavy), a few clothing items, and both kids already have winter coats and hats ready for next winter. If you haven't gotten a kids catalog recently, check it out. They've really improved in their trendiness on clothing items, but at least for staples like these, they're awesome. And the quality is really nice for everything.
I have several more neat birthday gifts for Will that I want to share sometime soon. And cross your fingers for good weather on the 8th, 'cause I have lots of things I'd like to do with him on his special day.

We needed a good slipper suggestions, so thanks! Logan burned through his Children's Place slippers in about 3 months, and we haven't been able to find a replacement, especially at this time of the year. When it gets cold enough to need slippers again (hopefully a LONG way away), we'll definitely give these a try!

Will's backpack is super cute - I, too, am a big fan of L.L. Bean's stuff!

I can't believe he is going to be in pre-school either. He has had such a fabulous start with you at home that I'm fairly certain he will be the smartest kid in the class! I hope Nana is ready to challenge him! :)
