I just assumed the first born child in a family was always very independent.
And maybe things will change, but right now, Will prefers to be babied. If I ask him to try dressing himself or doing something for himself, his response is always "No, mommy. I caaaaaan't." So our last practical life task (putting on and pulling off pants) has taken quite awhile. He would just as soon have mom or dad do everything for him. But accomplishing this skill will make all our lives easier, especially in the morning, so I'm really pushing it.
This was Saturday morning. Starting simple with sweat pants and a t-shirt. I showed him how to look for the tag and make sure that goes in the back.
Then he corrected it and said "therrre you go".
This picture cracks me up. Craig wants to save it as a screensaver. LOL :)
And now the shirt. Figure out which side goes in front, find the head hole and pull over noggin, then the rest is cake.
He does feel proud of himself when he accomplishes this, so I'm trying to maximize on the pride reward. :)
