A Gorgeous Sunday

SUCH a beautiful weekend, huh?

We spent a lot of time outside, especially on Sunday. I even got out for another run on Sunday morning and felt really good. Then after my run and before lunch, we pulled the kids' borrowed water table (thanks Addison!) down from the garage rafters and filled it up. First, here's Will checking out a huge spider that was spinning it's way down from the garage soffit when we first got outside. He's always asking where the spiders go in the morning when we come out to see their bare webs on the deck. So he thought this was really cool to see.
First, we set it up in the shade behind the garage and brought out a bunch of beach/bath toys.
This was Sophie's first time using the water table and she was just dead set on soaking herself within five minutes. She splashed and then looked briefly shocked that her face got wet, and then splashed like crazy some more. She also kept licking her hand after each splash like she was trying to drink the water. Eew.

Pretty shortly after, we moved the table to the front yard in the shade of one of the ash trees. At least two of our three ash trees will be cut down in the next month or so - they're pretty nearly dead due to that emerald ash borer. It's so sad to have to cut down huge, old trees, and it really takes away from the property value and appearance too. But, I could probably count the number of leaves on them and so they're taking away from the appearance by being there too. After that, we'll really only have one shade tree left. :(
Anyway, moving on from that tangent, we also set up the picnic table out front and here I'm heading in to make lunch while Craig stays out with the kids. Will is hot on my heels because he "needs" to go get his measuring cup for the water table too.
Soaked. Just soaked. The entire front of her shirt and shorts were totally saturated. But it was in the 80's today so she didn't mind. :)
More licking water.
Look grandma! It's our first picnic on Sophie's new table!
Sophie's not used to all this freedom. She had a hard time keeping her hands on her own plate. And Brutus just relished this golden opportunity from under the table.
Apple slices spread with peanut butter = MESSY!
After baths and nap, we headed out to attend Craig's cousin's wedding party. His cousin was married a year ago but never had a celebration with family. So this was a sort of casual (but large!) celebration at the fire hall. Will LOVED to see the fire trucks in the big garage with papa! And Will and cousin Tabor (whom we hadn't seen since Labor Day when he wasn't even walking) got down together on the dance floor. You can see Will looking up - he was completely entranced by the disco ball light above the DJ table.
Poor Will - his dance moves are... just like daddy's. :) LOL
Sophie tried to dance a little too.

Our little disco fever dude had sore feet by the end of the party and asked daddy to kiss them to make them better. :)
Craig and I both just felt like the day was so nice and enjoyable: time spent outdoors and with family. Then we fed the kids and got them to bed before eating a meal in peace just the two of us. A perfect Sunday to cap off the weekend.

I'm going to go ahead and invite my daughters over to your house to play on the water table. They LOVE their baths and splashing around so that would be perfect. Thanks! LOL

1. Okay, that first pic really threw me for a loop...I thought it was an enormous crab-like creature behind Will and crawling on your garage floor. Yikes!!

2. I'm a little behind, but your Tot School post from last week...that one blue and green painting with the tape marks...OMG I'm in love with that! Seriously, when I look at the photo that shows the entire gallery, that one just stands out. It's really something!!

3. I never know how to answer questions people leave in my comments, ha ha! But we usually camp up around East Harbor, and there's a place on Catawba Is we love. Maumee Bay's fun too.

4. LOVE Sophia's dress :)
