First Day, Last Day

Preschool Year 2 has ended!  I CANNOT believe we have a Kindergartner in our family now!!  The night before his last day, I don't think Will really realized he would be done at Precious Moments Preschool forever.  I tried to tell him that he should give his teachers lots of hugs and have a really great last day because he wouldn't be going back there for school after tomorrow.  He seemed confused and suddenly sad at the realization that Nana would not be his teacher any longer.  I know he's super excited for Kindergarten in the fall (he thought he was going to be starting the following Monday) but my little buddy got kind of teary and choked up about this being his last day of Preschool.  And I did too.  It wasn't the graduation that set off my tears.  It was the quiet moments at bedtime with my almost-five-year-old on the night before his last day that really stopped me in my tracks and made me think about how far we have come in just a blink of an eye.

Will has really grown and matured over the past couple of years.  He's learned so many new things and has really prepared himself to move on to the next level of learning.  We're sooooo proud of him!

Here's a look at Will on his very first day of preschool in 2010.
And in 2011 - already such a difference!
This was day 2 for 2011.
And here he is on the last day of year 2!
(Please let me warn you of how terribly artificial his camera smiles are in all these last day pictures!  This is actually the best one!)
Will's actual first day of preschool (year 2) was chilly and rainy, so I took these other "first day" pics outside on probably day 3 or 4 of the school year.
First day.
Last Day

Last Day
I know this isn't nice and it really doesn't matter, but I really dislike all the pictures we took on his last day this year.  None of them are an accurate depiction of our son's cute, happy self.  But... I like to have the comparison, so I'll deal with it.  :)

Looking forward (but hoping it's in slow motion) to fall and having TWO first days of school for our kiddos!  In the meantime, we'll enjoy our summer.
