Our little pal, Cora, turned FOUR on May 17th and celebrated with family and friends on Saturday the 19th with one of the coolest themed birthday parties we've ever been to. An art party! Everything was rainbow colored, including Cora's polka dot swimsuit. :)
The weather was absolutely perfect for an outdoor party. I'm beginning to think the Pearson family has some sort of deal with God to have such impeccable luck for their party weather. :)
All the kids were in swimsuits and had a total blast.
The highlight of the party was the paper-lined fence with individual canvases lined up for each of the child guests in attendance. Each kid got an egg crate/palette of rainbow paint colors and a few brushes and they all went to work creating their masterpieces. How cool is that?
Will began with a brachiosaurus... naturally.
Charli and Sophie getting started.
Sophie always uses a lot of purple. ;)
Soph, scoping out Jax's work.
Will's creation got to be more and more of an abstract dinosaur scene (?) ala Eric Carle as time went on. He had to explain to us what we were looking at. ;)
The finished products with child's name written above their work.
Charli & Soph - the Barbie Jeep is always a hit.
Will looks a bit malicious in this picture. Water balloons give kids all sorts of crazy ideas. ;)
To go along with the art party theme: paint palette cupcakes! Flipping adorable!! And I'm not a big cake person, but these were strawberry lemonade, cherry chip, etc. and were totally delicious. (From a shop on Main Street in Genoa.)
"Happy Birthday to you!"
Dessert is served!
(Oh, and it was preceded by the best grilled chicken I've ever had and lots of delicious sides.)
A kiss for Sophie from Uncle Dub.
Gift time!
BFF's
Cora's daddy, Brian, made this birthday sign for the party using a picture of Cora with Snow White from their recent Disney vacation. Isn't that cool?
Happy 4th Birthday, Cora!!
