What We've Been Reading

Still lovin' us some Mo Willems! These aren't as good as the pigeon or elephant and piggie books, but Sophie still loves them and can "read" them to herself (memorizing and inventing).
More Mo. Loved the Time to Pee book for Soph right now. And the pigeon book had us all cracking up.
Can't wait to get to the beach soon!
Will loved this. It was a non-fiction, fact book and very detailed. Lots of interesting information! I enjoyed it too.
Jonathan Allen's "I'm not..." books are funny and cute. And we always love cuddly animal books.
The Diane deGroat book is really a Valentine's book, which I didn't realize when I requested it. But Will and I thought it was funny and I liked the thoughtful message. The Underpants Zoo was funny too.
This was an enormous hit. ;-) Sophie LOVED it and so did Will. Sort of Farmer and the Dell-ish with everyone trying to help pull out the enormous potato. Will thought it was hilarious that the farmer called to his wife by saying "Wife! Oh, wife!"
A sweet book about leaving home to explore the world and "leaping" back home to mama.
Typical scene.
Another evening scene while I make dinner. It's not always this calm, but every so often... ;-)

A few Easter books.

Um. Hello? Dinosaurs and construction trucks in the same book?  Could there be a more perfect combination for Will?  :)  He, of course, requests a dino book or two every week.  These were recent selections.

Weee! A bunch of Mo Willems books came in on request from intralibrary loans.  We were all pretty psyched.

Whales were a topic of interest this week.  Dolphins too.

The magic of one bean!  With it's capability of growing a whole plant and spawning LOTS more seeds...  Growing plants (especially those for food) is a wondrous experience!
Flora's Very Windy Day was definitely a favorite.  An annoyed big sister goes out to play with her mischievous younger brother on a very windy day.  The two get picked up by the wind and travel on an adventure that reminds big sister that, though he's annoying, little brother is still someone she loves and protects.

A couple final good ones...
