Easter Morning at Home

A certain rabbit visited our home last weekend.

Will received a barnyard puzzle, a new Puma outfit, a couple of new books, a yoyo, bird whistle, slinky and chapstick in addition to some treats.

I am SOOOOO pleased with the books both kids received. These are Will's. We have been reading The One Year Devotions for Preschoolers all week and loving it. There's a simple, daily message for each day of the year along with a very short bible verse and prayer that coordinates with the message. Probably one of the best things we've done to help him feel a daily connection with God. We pray daily. But often the kids rush through prayer in an effort to get to the meal or the bedtime story. This is a meaningful reader that he looks forward to and doesn't feel the desire to rush. The other book is great too. Just a nice story about how a young child would feel so confident and secure if Jesus walked beside him in life... which the story points out to be already happening.

Sophie received a bird whistle, a Puma outfit, a few books, a yoyo, Leap Frog Phonics Farm DVD and a chapstick.

Sophie's books are also wonderfully written and have been enjoyed all week. About all the things God loves us more than (sorta like Will's and my "love you bigger than" game) and about what a little child would do to make Jesus feel welcome if he visited his or her home.

Will woke up first (as usual) and came upstairs to tell us that "the E-Bunny came!" He still remembers that he called the Easter bunny "E-Bunny" when he was just shy of two years old (we've reminded him a couple times and he finds it funny) and likes to continue saying it. We made poor Will climb into bed with us and wait from 7:30 till almost 8:30 when Sophie woke up, to go downstairs and hunt for eggs and baskets. He was so patient though we knew he was looking so forward to the surprise. The basket Sophie's holding in the next few pictures was just an egg collection basket.

Will found his basket in the coat closet.

And Sophie found hers behind a curtain.

The whistles were the favorite item for both kids out of everything else in their baskets. :-)

For breakfast we ate leftover banana bread pancakes (Pinterest) and then dressed and went to church at OLL for the 10:30 mass. It was a smooth morning and a nice start to Easter Sunday!
