Danny and the dinosaur share a birthday party together.

Happy Birthday, Dora! by Diana Michaels

and

Big Girls Use the Potty! by Andrea Pinnington

Baby Pig Time to Play by Laura Gates Galvin

and

Busy Elephants by John Schindel

How baby pig spends her day.

"Busy, busy elephants. What are they doing?" Will has this book memorized.

If You Were My Bunny by Kate McMullan

"If you were my bunny and I were your mama, I'd pick you out from all the other bunnies and nestle you beside me. Then you'd close your little pink eyes and I'd sing you a bunny song."

"If you were my bear cub..." "If you were my kitten..." "If you were my puppy..."

A Father's Song by Janet Lawler

A boy and his father spend a fun day together at the park.

You Are a Gift to the World & The World is a Gift to You by Laura Duksta

This is a flip-sided book. See above and below.

A beautiful message of the treasures that we are and that our world offers to us.

George and Martha and George and Martha Rise and Shine by James Marshall

Tales of two hippos that are best friends. Kind of weird - not my fave.

A Chair for My Mother by Vera B. Williams

After a house fire caused them to lose all of their belongings, a little girl and her mother save change in a jar till the can afford to buy a beautiful new chair to relax in.

Steam Train Ride by Evelyn Clarke Mott

A great book for train lovers. A train-loving boy gets the complete experience when he spends the day on a steam train.

Amazing Grace by Mary Hoffman

I love the illustrations in this book. And the story is a good one but it was a little difficult to read with the portion of racial stereotyping that my kids are completely unexposed to at this point.

The Little Rabbit Who Liked to Say Moo by Jonathan Allen

The animals practice saying other animal's sounds just for fun but all agree that their own sounds are their favorite.

If Jesus Came to My House by Joan G. Thomas

"If Jesus came to your house, would He be your age and height? How would you treat Him? Would you give Him your nicest toys and let Him have the longest turn on your rocking horse? In this simple, touching story, a young boy realizes that he can treat others according to the lessons he would learn if Jesus really did come to his house."

How My Parents Learned to Eat by Ina R. Friedman

A blending of cultures and their eating behaviors. An American sailor meets and falls in love with a Japanese school girl and both learn to eat the way the other one is accustomed in order to impress them on a date. Very sweet.

Hello, Baby Beluga by Darrin Lunde

Sort of like a Q&A with facts about beluga whales. Will still loves whales.

Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina

A handful of the books this week were from a recommended list for kids that I came across and, I have to say, this one was really dumb. "A tale of a peddler, some monkeys and their monkey business." Don't read it.

Farmyard Beat by Lindsey Craig

The animals can't sleep "'cause they got that beat!"

I'm Taking a Trip on My Train by Shirley Neitzel

A story that builds line by line so that you're repeating the same lines over and over and adding one more. Will loved it when I read the repetitious series of lines as fast as I could. :)

Pond Walk by Nancy Elizabeth Wallace

LOVE, love Nancy Elizabeth Wallace!! Mama teaches Buddy all about the animals, bugs and plants they see on their pond walk at Pete's Pond. Will loved Buddy's jokes in these books.
