Break Out the Swim Diapers!

It's POOL time! Our first swim of the season. P.S. Will probably doesn't need a swim diaper, but just in case...

You're killin' me, Smalls. :) She loves her sunglasses! She left them on the entire time and whined until I put them back on her when I was trying to change her at the end of the night. LOL

Will has much more bravery and interest in actually swimming this year. He practiced kicking and "doggy swimming". He also liked to kick around with the pool noodle and later a dolphin raft.
Uncle Zach helped maneuver around on the dolphin raft. Will found it helpful to ride "backwards" so he could grip their tails to hold on while he kicked. :)
Then, we decided to try the life vest to see if he would like to try swimming on his own. But I think it's good for him to practice without so he learns his limitations.
Bathing beauty didn't care for this pool float at first, but finally succumbed to bobbing around in the (pool-temperature) hot tub with Nana.
Practicing swimming.

I asked Will if he'd like to jump off the diving board and he immediately said yes while I waded in the deep end ready to catch him. He really looked like he wanted to but just couldn't bring himself to jump. Meanwhile, I'm pooping out from treading water forever waiting for him to make up his mind. LOL :)
Finally, we agreed to jump off together. I tried to prepare him that we would go under water for a short time, but he didn't seem afraid. I probably should have told him to plug his nose?
1, 2, 3!!!
He seemed pretty shocked and frightened at first when we came up and swam to the side (based on his expression only), but he didn't say a word or seem upset or sad. He just moved on to whatever he wanted to do next and that was that.
Sophie enjoyed a little game of peek 'a boo over the side of the hot tub wall. Where's mommy? Peek 'a boo!
Tea, anyone?
All wrapped up and ready to get some dinner!
And more tea.
Pool toys.
We changed into dry clothes and ate dinner before heading home for warm baths (it's chilly in the evening after swimming!) and bed. I took Sophie in first and got her bathed, jammied and into bed (she passed out instantly) while Will stayed outside and played awhile longer with Craig. Craig was actually doing some yard work simultaneously and popped inside to tell me to bring a towel on my way out to get Will. Turns out, he had stripped naked and climbed into the water table! What the heck? I guess the kid didn't get enough water time in the pool.

My apologies to anyone that might be offended by this. I think it's hilarious. And P.S. - Grandma, do you remember when all of us cousins did this at your house way back when? It was so fun and liberating to be allowed to run around naked outside. Seriously, though, how old were we? I'm pretty sure I was older than Will 'cause Casey was running around too.
Umm... I have no idea.
Drying off, I guess? Shortly after this, he said "let's go inside and get me warmed up!" :) So we did just that. He got a warm bath too, jammies, books and bed.
