Hangin' at the Hotel

I flippin' love hilly roads. Northwest Ohio is so dang flat!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Independence (near Cleveland). Affordable. Pool. Continental Breakfast. Mini kitchenette with fridge and microwave for the foods we brought. Separate "bedroom" and "living room" areas. Perfect.

We got the king size bed, brought the pack 'n play for Soph and put Will on the pull out couch in the living room.

Priority #1 after a busy morning, a lot of driving and a half nap? Jumping on the bed and running like maniacs back and forth from room to room. Duh.

They laughed their butts off when daddy would push them down on the bed.

Priority #2? Snack time... while still running around.

Priority #3? The pool! And many, many rounds of Motor Boat. :)

Sophie's hair just came out of half-piggies. She looks like an old lady with this "after-hair-do". :) Haha.

Priority #4: bath and dinner. Craig went out to get Chipotle for him and I.

Priority #5 was bedtime and it didn't go as well as I'd hoped. I should have gone into it with no expectations and then been pleasantly surprised if it went well... but I assumed they'd be EXHAUSTED after this day with almost no nap. So we first layed (laid?? - I hate that word - I never know how to spell it) down about 7:00. I could have crashed for the night right then. ;) Will and I were in the big bed with Sophie in the P'nP in the same room and Craig was watching TV in the living room. When all was said and done (after much frustration from me) Will fell asleep in the living room at about 9:30 and Sophie in the P'nP at about 9:45. I tried to bring her into bed with me but that was working either. Ah well. They seemed to do best in separate rooms, I guess... which isn't always practical away from home. :(

Breakfast the next morning: pancakes, bananas and yogurt. Haha - do you like how the lid of our travel seat is Will's "plate"? :)

The aftermath of the night in our room. Oh, and they were both obsessed with picking up and playing with these easily accessible phones with CORDS! Must seem like a novelty to them.

Waiting for daddy to get ready to head out. Craig and I ate downstairs at the hotel breakfast (they had omelet stations cooked right in front of you!) and the kids nibbled some more from our plates. I'm so glad we brought food though because we didn't make our way down there till around 9 or a little after and the kids were immediately hungry upon waking at 7.

Their cuteness almost makes me forget the hectic night they gave us. Well, me. Craig was totally nonchalant about the whole thing, as usual. ;)

I think I'm going to print this one in an 8x10 B&W to update one of our living room frames. Love it!

Love these kids. For reals.

Wow, I've been gone all weekend, and I have a lot of catching up to do! ;) I read the first line of this post really quickly and thought it said, "I flippin' love hillbilly roads." LOL! Your trip looks like a fabulous time, and I can't wait to check the pics out a little more closely...when I can keep my eyes open!
