Happy Birthday, Big Papa!

Papa Riedeman (a.k.a. Big Papa) celebrated his 67th birthday last Sunday with a pizza & pool party at Kelly's house.

For awhile, Will had no interest in moving off the pool steps at all. He was content just playing with pool toys. But grandma & daddy coaxed him off with swim arms and a kick board and he suddenly loved it! He kicked all around the pool the rest of the evening.

Not sure why they were doing this...

Sophie armed herself with every flotation device available.

Can you see the swelling on Will's forehead (his right side)? He had multiple spider bites there somehow and his poor face continued to swell and get worse that evening and the next day to where he didn't look like himself at all. Poor guy. It took about 3.5 days for the swelling to completely go away.

Sophie saw us and immediately wanted to jump too. She got up there and bounced but never got the courage to do it herself. So I climbed up and held her and we jumped off together. No pictures were captured, but Craig was right there to help me come up and reassure her. She wasn't too thrilled.

Not long after the first jump, Sophie decided she wanted to do it again. But again, she'd bounce and never jump. And she kept changing her mind whether or not she wanted to jump WITH me again.

So, in the end, Craig and I just kept lowering her down into the pool where the other was waiting.

Pizza and watermelon... mmm!
