A Day at the Beach!

Monday morning, the kids let us sleep till almost 9 after a late night of fireworks!! I could hardly believe it! I'm pretty sure Will was up before that and entertaining himself as he always does (a little too loudly) in the morning. But it was wonderful!

I'd packed us a lunch and some beach towels the night before, so after breakfast we loaded up and headed to Maumee Bay for some beach time! It still amazes me that it only takes us seven minutes to drive here and yet we almost never go! Why? I really don't know. I just don't think about it. But the kids loved it!

We hung out on the inlet beach instead of the lake side.
Sophie wore her L.L. Bean sandals the whole time - on the hot sand and right into the water.

This is actually a 2T set! The rash guard is too small but the shorts still fit just fine!

We remembered the Frisbee and a football but stupidly forgot the buckets and shovels! Darn it! Sophie actually liked playing catch at close range with the football and she kept trying to use the Frisbee to transfer water to the sand or onto our legs.

Aww. Look what I caught on camera. A sibling hug... and some plumber's crack on Will. I think he was actually trying to lift her, but I can pretend it was supposed to be a hug, right?

Sophie looks a smidge fearful, but she loved this and kept asking for more. :)

I missed out on a good Father's Day pic, so I'm happy to have this one. The kids almost look the same age, don't they?

In the afternoon, we went to Craig's parent's house for a big Riedeman family picnic. Didn't get any pics though. We were pretty exhausted by the end of this day!
