December Reading

As I mentioned here and here, we took a library sabbatical for the month of December and spent most of the month reading Christmas/winter books. But in addition to those, the kids opened a new-to-own book each night after dinner as part of our countdown to Christmas. There was a wide variety of interests and we've read and reread them multiple times.
A new stock of Boynton's!
A few more board books.
Sophie loves the top two. And Click, Clack, Moo is so cute and funny.
Sophie "reading" Time for Bed by Mem Fox.
She likes to say all the animal sounds and other segments from the text. On the page with the cows, it reads "It's time for bed little calf, little calf. What happened today that made you laugh?" She likes to say "What happened?" in her super cute little voice.
A bunch of our new hardcover titles. All are favorites. All are excellent reads that I highly recommend.
And some new paperback books. I'm trying to avoid buying paperback, but sometimes the Scholastic orders are hard to resist. Will loves all of these... along with a couple books on planets and the solar system {not pictured}.
And finally, we've finished book numbers 10-14 since the end of November and are now on book #15. (I don't have pictures of 13 & 14.) These are definitely still intriguing but there's just something so enchanting about picture books and I think I want to really focus on those again for awhile.

We made a big trip to the library this past Saturday and our bag was almost overflowing when we checked out. So another post on library books will follow soon. :)
