Craig and I have been planning to build the kids a swing set (well, Craig's going to do the building... I'm just doing the planning :)) some time this spring. Our friends Jason and Angie purchased a "kit" to build one for their daughter, Addison, and Jason feels that is the way to go. So, with their permission, we took the kids over to play on their swing set for a short time and decide which features we were interested in. Addison is a lucky little girl! Will and Sophie loved it and now I'm even more excited to have our own! Thanks guys!
We definitely liked the rock wall. Our upper play area will probably only be one level though.
And, of course, the slide.
Will just thinks hanging from the rings or trapeze is so funny for some reason. So we definitely like those too.
Sophie has never been in/on a swing before. She was too little last summer and so this was her first ride. I'm sure we'll have a baby swing for her this summer and maybe one of those horse-type glider swings they can both sit on? We also liked the extention off the end of the swing set to accomodate a tire swing too. Very cool.
Wee!!
After nap time we met up with some new friends for a playdate. Two of my sisters co-workers are some of my new bloggy friends... it's always good to know teachers - they're so clever and creative! And their children are cute as can be! So we had 5 babies (including TWO sets of twins!) and 3 toddler boys at our play date. Will was the oldest. (P.S. when is a child no longer considered a "toddler"? Age 3? Then maybe he's categorized as a preschooler?) Here are Sophie and Stella mouthing away at the toys. And Miss Emmy is laying on the floor in the background.
How cute are my nieces? Mya and Stella are going to be 10 months this Friday!
This is Kelly, an awesome mommy to Brody (2 1/2 - the back of his head is to the camera - sweet Brody was having a shy day) and the other adorable set of twins in this picture, Emmy and Jax (nearly 7 months). Kelly, I hope you don't mind me posting this picture! I thought it was a cute moment. Also in Kelly's lap is Logan (18 mos) - our little host and a super cute, little socialite. His mommy is Amy and they are expecting a new baby this summer!
Casey and Stella.
Missy Mya with her huge, blue eyes. Both of my nieces have gorgeous eyes.
Sophie was loving this little, ride-on fire truck. She was smiling so big but those pictures turned out fuzzy - boo.
Will and Soph.
Aunt Casey reading to Will and Mya, with Stella in the foreground.
This was so funny. As we were loading up to leave, Will and Logan were hanging out by the front door. Logan was looking out the window and saying "side!" (as in "outside"). Will thought that was quite amusing but apparently thought he said "fide" because that's what he repeated back to Logan. The two of them just kept saying it back and forth, giggling and getting louder each time. Too cute!
Playdates aren't something we do on a regular basis but we had a really good time. Thank you so much for inviting us Amy and Logan! It was so nice meeting all the adorable kiddos! On Sunday, after an unusually early nap (to be up in time), we attended a children's Easter party put on by Grandma Riedeman's work. They do these annually for all the big holidays and it's really very nice. There are lots of games and activities for the kids to participate in and they even organize an egg hunt and visit from the Easter Bunny!

First up was the bean bag toss. Will loves bean bags... and I'm pretty sure he doesn't realize he's totally cheating at this game. The nice lady gave him a tiny, bunny toy anyway.
Easter hopscotch.
Craig and Tom (or "Big Papa", as Will calls him).
Will loves him some Big Papa! And I just love seeing the two of them together. It's seriously one of my favorite things to watch. Tom is just so patient and sweet with Will.
Uh oh! The water is brown! That poor duck must be swimming in Lake Erie. At least he has a nice looking beak...
The weather was less than optimal for an outdoor egg hunt. So this year they held it inside the club house, which happens to be the same location we held our rehearsal dinner before our wedding. Not as good of pictures for me... but still lots of fun for Will.

Proud of all his eggs.
Back at the table, Will breaks into every plastic egg to find piece after piece of candy! Oy! He had a few too many pieces before daddy piled it into a bag for us to ration out at home.
Mmm... Easter is awfully tasty!
Will was so proud to show Grandma all his eggs.
Here's a look at my two guys last year at this same event. I remember thinking that Will was suddenly looking so much older and less baby-ish in this picture.
And now this year he is most definitely a grown-up, little boy! (Is that an oxymoron? You know what I mean though.)
When the lady announced that a special visitor was arriving shortly, Will and I went to stand within view to watch him walk in. Then as soon as I okayed it, Will took off to hug the big bunny! Quick funny side note: see the white truck just outside the doors? That was the bunny's ride to this shindig apparently. Later on, after the Easter Bunny left and Will and I were just taking a walk around to keep him entertained, Will asked me "where's the Easter Bunny's white truck?" LOL :) Once again, his attention to detail amazes me. Just like his daddy. Funny that that stood out to him.
Another glimpse of last year... Will was initially thrilled to see the "E-bunny" arrive, but then was too scared to sit on his lap or stand beside him alone. You can also see in this picture that I'm about to pop. The party last year was right about two weeks before Sophia was born.

Craig and Tom (or "Big Papa", as Will calls him). Aww... Isn't that sweet? My husband is coloring a cute, little Easter duck! He only colored the beak (still not sure why) and Will filled in the rest.
