A Surprise Breakfast Picnic

Saturday was super busy for us, so we planned on a leisurely Sunday this weekend.  I borrowed a tip from my awesome-mom friend, Kelly, and surprised the kids with a breakfast picnic outside this morning.  I made berry fruit smoothies as a special treat.  Will ate leftover cottage cheese pancakes and Sophie had some Cheerios with banana and a rhubarb streusel muffin.  Yum!  The kids were caught off guard and excited when I said let's head outside for breakfast.  It's fun to throw a new twist into the monotony of schedule sometimes.
As usual, Will ate steadily and quickly and hopped up to go demonstrate his new skill (since being in Kindergarten) of jumping off the swing on the peak of his forward movement.
Aaaaand Sophie did her typical take-forever-to-finish-a-meal.  She's usually best at breakfast and today was the same, but she's still almost always longer than Will.
Nice, bud!
Yawn!  Lounging is great.
We put on some clothes later and got back out to check out Sophie's new bubble machine from the Munoz fam for her birthday.

And she's been reeeeeally into all Pete the Cat books.  There are lots more new ones now so we're requesting up a storm from our library!  She memorizes them in their entirety after repetitive reading from mom & dad and then "reads" them aloud to herself and anyone who will listen.  :)
