Happy Father's Day, Craig!

Even though I think Craig knew he wanted to have children...

{Will - July '07}

... I don't think he was at all prepared for how deeply he would fall in love with them.

{Will - July '07}

After he fell head over heels for Will, I'm sure he couldn't imagine his heart expanding that much more when his little girl was born.

{Sophie - May '09}

He couldn't have imagined how much joy they would bring to our lives...

...or how much fun it would be to share the things he loves with them. :)

{Sophie - Sept. '09}

I don't think he expected how the every day moments in life would become so much more special when shared with his child.

Or how much they'd adore just listening to their daddy talk to them.

{This picture cracks me up.}

I don't think he realized how wondrous the simple things would become...

...or how much a child's laugh or smile would light up his world.

Craig says to me all the time:

"We have some really great kids, don't we?"

or

"I'm so proud of our kids... I love them so much."

or

"Is it me, or do we have the greatest kids ever?"
Haha :)

The thing about being a parent is that you are never prepared.

No matter what you anticipate, it's always bigger than that.

And often times, it just hits you like a ton of bricks that you can't imagine loving anything more. That you can't imagine loving as big as you do. And that you can't imagine your world without them.

I don't think Craig realized he would love being a dad as much as he does. But he never fails to let them know it. He pours his heart and soul into these kids. And he's pretty darn good at it.

Happy Father's Day, Craig!

They (and I!) love you so much!
