Happy 1st Birthday, Lincoln!

We went to another birthday party on Sunday celebrating this handsome fellow.

Lincoln James is ONE!

Irresistibly adorable, no?
The Pearson family had the coolest, mid-sized, inflatable pool set up! A HUGE hit with all the kids.
I braided Sophie's hair again and she only got to wear her pretty dress (one of my faves!) for a short time before changing into her swimsuit for the remainder of the party.

Will is in a hurry to get his suit on. :)

What a perfect party playground, huh?

Cora and Will spent most of their time playing in the pool.

Cora is such a charmer. And she was also the cutest, party MC again. She'd come out of the house and announce "Okay, everyone! Ten more minutes and then we'll have cake! Some people are still eating inside." Haha! She passed out plates, she announced gift opening and she was very protective of her little brother.

Linc had the cutest black and gray trunks with matching t-shirt on. They had a skull and crossbones on the booty. Such a tough guy! ;) He played in the water table rather than the pool.

Mya and Stella were immediately brave and wanted to get into the water. They hung onto the sides like their mommy begged for awhile. And then, when they decided to get adventurous and walk out to the middle, they earned themselves life vests for a brief time (they didn't like those at all!). After a couple stumbles and submersions, Casey decided that was enough and they were so upset! I think they're ready for swim lessons, Case! :) They're curious and they're strong!

Cora Josephine - age 3.

Finally, I convinced Sophie to try getting in. (Well, actually I just picked her up and pretended to dip her toes and then her body in and out a few times and she eased up.) Prior to that, she would arch her back and scrunch up her legs and avoid getting put in at all costs. She was curious and she was hanging out around the outside while the other kids played, but she wasn't so sure about getting in.

Being cautious at first.

Then I put swim arms on her and she ventured out, doing so well, all over the pool!

Oh, this picture makes me smile and brings back such great memories. I have pictures of my cousins and I on vaca' with my dad's whole side of the family at a cottage. We're all in swimsuits, making cheesy faces and wearing big 'ole blobs of sunscreen on our noses. I should dig that up and compare because it was Casey and I with Molly and her siblings Abbey and Nick. And now these are our children. :)

Once again, they can't get enough of the watermelon. They probably each had four or five pieces before dinner. Also, side note: we forgot swim diapers and Sophie's diaper has surpassed maximum capacity with pool water absorption. Haha! She couldn't even walk with out waddling 'cause her legs wouldn't come together. :)

"No more pool? Fine. We'll swim in the water table." Haha!

LOVE this pic of Sophie. Might be one of my faves ever. (My mom's telling Will to "Look at mommy".)

Cake time, little buddy!

The kids are pros at singing the birthday song by now.

Sophie's watching Linc eat his cake. Will's busy playing with Cora's toy lizards and frogs.

LOL - way to go, Lincoln!

Frosting 'stache.

Oh my goodness. I'm so embarassed. We've allowed Will to pee outside at our house before and he clearly sees nothing wrong with being naked in public because he stripped down in front of everyone to change into his suit earlier and then casually walked over to the tree after eating cake, dropped trow' and peed. He also took his suit completely off to pee in front of everyone (outside) at the twins' party. Hmm... looks like we need to set some better boundaries. Thankfully, all of our family just found it funny. Aaaand, I had to take a picture to capture the moment. This is going on his high school graduation picture board in 14 years, okay? Remind me.

Gift time!

Happy Birthday, Lincoln!

Omg, Ashley...the pee picture is hilarious and made me think of last summer. When we were outside playing and Brody had to pee, Kris would take him to the side of the house and have him pee on a specific rock that became known as "pee pee rock." Kris finally got rid of it last fall or something, but Brody still talks about it and asks why he can't just go on "pee pee rock" instead of going inside. LOL

LOL! Better than peeing in the pool ;)

Oh, and I think it's really normal for boys. We were hanging out with Lauren (my head lacrosse coach) and her kids a few months ago at her lake house. At the time, there was some algae in the lake that was killing all the fish, so Lauren's enterprising landscaper brought some of the dead fish up to fertilize the garden at the house. Well, the kids were off playing and then Mia came over and said, "Gregory [Lauren's 3-year-old] peed on the fish!" And, indeed, he had :) So there ya go. At least Will wasn't peeing on dead fish!

Hi! It's me again! I found an answer to the Dashboard feed issue, and it seems private blogs do not publish news feeds at this time, so you won't see updates for my blog anymore on your dashboard...you'll just have to visit the web address occasionally to check for updates. :)
