Father's Day Books

Our library trip this morning was all about Father's Day and we found some really good ones!

Because Your Daddy Loves You by Andrew Clements

All the extra efforts daddy makes to be loving and caring (even when he could take an easier road)... because he loves you.

Papa, Do You Love Me? by Barbara M. Joosse
We own Mama, Do You Love Me? and Will has always loved it. This story is set in Africa in the Maasai culture and describes a father's unending love for his child. Lots of cultural tidbits throughout - Will was very curious.

When Papa Comes Home Tonight by Eileen Spinelli

Eileen Spinelli never lets us down. A little boy anxiously waits for his daddy to come home from work and the story tells of all the things they'll do that evening. I love the illustration of the little boy on the fence as his father approaches and also the bit about daddy starting to doze as he reads the bedtime story. That's happened a time or two in our house too. ;)

My Daddy and Me by Amy E. Sklansky

"We go together like...": {honey and bees, like peanut butter and jelly, like wind and kites, like rakes and leaves.} "Now and forever - My daddy and me, we go together!"

Up On Daddy's Shoulders by Matthew Berry

"Up on daddy's shoulders, I'm the happiest kid in the world."

Daddies by Lila Prap

Animal daddies and babies and how each daddy is special. A favorite because of all the animals of course.
