...Will has initiated... all on his own...
POTTY TRAINING!!!
Monday night, while changing him for bed, I randomly asked him if he'd like to sit on the potty. I fully expected him to say no, as he always does. But instead he said yes and went in to sit down on his trainer potty, which has been in our bathroom for a LONG time just waiting. He never seemed interested before and, after hearing that boys are often closer to 3 before potty training, I had no interest in pushing and fighting with him (with all the time and effort involved in the process) before he was ready. He simply did not mind sitting in a wet or dirty diaper before and therefore was just not ready. Anyway, we sang one song while we he sat there and didn't even make it through the whole song before he had peed! I couldn't believe it! Craig and I cheered and congratulated him profusely and he seemed very proud after our response. Craig called his parents who also congratulated Will on speakerphone. Will said "I went pee on the potty, Papa!" We let him flush it down the big potty and he loved that.
Then last night before bath, he wanted to try again. This time he went pee AND poo!!! And then peed again right after we flushed it! I won't get graphic, but I was shocked! I heard it took a lot longer for poo because kids get very uncomfortable about it and scared of doing it. Blah, blah, blah - no need for the gory details. I swear Will flushed the toilet like 50 times - to the point where Craig shut the water off to the toilet so he couldn't keep doing it. The flushing part is a reward in itself!
Then this morning, I heard him coming out of his room just as I was coming downstairs. He was undressed down to his diaper and said "Mommy, I need to go potty." So we went and he sat down and peed right away! Then we flushed it and he wanted to go again... and DID! He's very excited about the whole thing and we are too! I am blown away by his assertiveness. I really thought this was going to be much farther off and more difficult. Granted, we haven't done anything throughout the day or in public yet. But it's a start! And I will be very surprised if he changes his mind and regresses now, seeing how proud he is of himself.

Thanks goodness....I fully expected to open this post and see the picture you took of his poo. LOL CONGRATS to Will, however I am not at all surprised at how easy this is for him.
