Here's a quick snap of the kids on Friday morning before we left for the sitters.

We changed all the bed sheets Friday night and we always include Will to let him play around while we work.
Here, Craig was trying to get him to jump up and touch his toy. He still only barely gets off the surface when he's "jumping".

Saturday morning, Will and I ventured out to the pumpkin farm again. I've mentioned before that we like to go more than once and his last trip with the babysitter was the day of his seizure, so he didn't have the greatest experience. But we also had a mission: to pick out some homegrown squash for Sophie. So despite the overcast sky and on-and-off misting rain, we made our way to Fleitz's and I let him lead the agenda when we arrived.
So first we got a cider and doughnut and settled in the big, new barn for a snack.
Then we measured how tall he was again and checked out some huge pumpkins.
Will loved the gift shop with pumpkins and gourds painted to look like cows and ghosts and penguins. He liked sitting on the big swing by the snack shack. And of course, he liked seeing the goats and chickens and the white cat.
But I think his favorite part was the hayride, despite the mist and the cold. We drove through the pumpkin field and the tractor tires sloshed through all the puddles.
Finally, we headed to the front to select some squash for Sophie.
We picked a butternut and an acorn squash and Will's looking forward to trying them again too. It's been awhile (last winter!) since we ate much winter squash.
Back at home, Sophie LOVES to explode through her diapers. I swear it's a ploy to get more bath time. :)
We had friends over Saturday night for UFC. I love that our friends are totally cool with hanging around in sweatpants. Our monthly get together is traditionally at our house, which is so nice to be able to put the kids to bed and still feel like we got to socialize. We order pizza and usually make a yummy dessert and visit while we watch the fights. Martial arts is a big deal with Craig and our friends. I'm mostly interested in the socializing and dessert... (wink, wink)
Sunday was a lazy day - odds 'n ends around the house, Craig worked on putting some shelving into a closet and reorganizing it, we visited with the Rethman clan and had dinner with my parents. Sometimes, I have to force myself to HAVE those lazy days. It is so ingrained in me to be constantly busy, that I actually feel frustrated and just OFF when it happens that I don't really have an "agenda". But I really enjoyed the day and it was just gorgeous outside! Wes even brought Casey and I a mocha joe from Burger King that was so yummy. It was like an icy-coffee-chocolate-milk. Perfect pick-me-up. Thanks Wes!
Sophie practiced sitting with daddy on Sunday.
And played peek-a-boo.
