... that makes my children quit the bickering and play so nicely together!!!
The kids and I made our routine summer pilgrimage to Maumee Bay after work tonight for some chilled out quality time together. And it was just a perfect evening! We changed quickly, threw on some sunscreen, grabbed our water bottles and at-the-ready swim bag and beach toy bag, and split. The kids spent the evening working together on a sand castle and surrounding moat and then we twirled and splashed around together in the water. It was just what we needed to end another monotonous work/daycare day - play time outside!
I love these serious, concentrating faces Will is making. They remind me of my super serious first born as an infant. He was such a chill, observant and serious-looking babe!
After a couple of hours, the kids hurriedly changed into dry clothes in the parking lot, while I held up a towel as their curtain. ;-) And then we threw everything back into the Jeep and drove to Vito's to pick up pizza for dinner. We are definitely making use of the Vito's summer time two-for-one deal on Tuesday evenings! I only wish it were on Mondays instead for karate night! But dinner outside on the deck followed by bath and bedtime books capped off an awesome evening.
Definitely repeating every part of this night as much as we can this summer! Weeknights are an awesome time to go to the bay!
