Holiday Festivities, Part 4

Doin' a little holiday baking with my trusty helpers mid-week before the Christmas "weekend" begins.

My favorite picture to date of Sophie in the kitchen.  :)

Will brought home the cutest gift inside the cutest gift bag from school this week.  He was supposed to put it under the tree and save it until Christmas (per his teacher after she realized he'd given it early), but he insisted that I open it and kept moving up the time/date of when that should happen.  "Tomorrow... or how about tonight... or maybe just right now."
Adorable right?  And the bag's pretty cute too.  ;)
Inside was the handmade candle holder I mentioned in my InstaFriday post.  LOVE it!!  And I love his awesome teacher!
We take turns on who blows out the candle.  (Have I mentioned this already?)  Will blows out on the odd days, Sophie on the even.  We're getting closer to Christmas!!

On Saturday, the 22nd, we went to Craig's parent's house for gift opening with them and Craig's sister's family.  Normally, we do our gift exchange amid the busyness of the extended family party on Christmas Eve and it's always a little chaotic and rushed... not to mention making the night pretty late.  My sister in law, Kelly, suggested this and it worked out very nicely.  We had brunch together and got to relax and pay better attention to the opening, while simultaneously making Christmas Eve more relaxed.
Ms. Claus Veronica and I. :)
Grandma & Papa's tree complete with Lionel train surrounding the gifts.
Always a big hit.

Pancakes and sausage!

Reading Grandma's princess book with Great Grandpa.

Wrestling = male bonding.
The Riedeman boys.
Celia opened a bird whistle, a Mo Willems potty book and a Melissa & Doug mosaic game/puzzle from us.  I didn't get pics of Veronica's gift because she was napping for awhile during our opening, but we got her a Tea dress and The Gruffalo book.

Sophie got dress up clothes and a doll bed from the Munoz family.

And Will got a remote control truck!

Soph was so excited for Grandma to open our gift.  It was a box inside a box inside a box (etc) and the kids thought this was hilarious.

Sophie also got a Fisher Price karaoke toy, a V-Tech lap top and a Hanna Anderson fleece.

Will got a fleece too along with more Transformers.
Grandma opened new luggage with Soph and Celia's help.

Veronica's awake and she loves to dance/bounce in Grandma's lap.
A seasonal must:  dark chocolate cocoa with marshmallows and candy canes.  Ain't nothin' like the real thing baby!

On Sunday afternoon, we went to my grandparent's house for the Konesky Christmas.  Good food.  Great people!

A couple of pictures of Grandpa & Grandma with all their great-grandkids.

Grandpa & Grandma with their respective daughters.  Mom & Shirley in the middle.  Tracy & Terry on either end.  The girls were teenagers my grandparents remarried.
Grandpa with Tracy, Terry and all of their kids, significant others and grandkids.
Ditto for Grandma, mom, Shirley and our whole brood.
Aunt Shirl, Grandma & mama.
My cousin Brittany with her husband Troy and their adorable daughter, Reese.
The make-shift "kids table".

Brianne & Reese.  Check out those blue eyes!!

Scenes from our post-meal hang out.

I love my family!!!

(And I love how the timing worked out to have a long weekend of celebrating with Christmas Eve falling on a Monday!)
