Christmas Eve morning was super chill. We literally vegged for the whole morning. Part of that involved snuggling on the couch... and then piling pillows and blankets on top of me (ahem... Sophie) and climbing on top of the pile. ;)
I adored Sophie's Christmas outfit this year but it was nearly impossible to capture a picture of her in it. She almost NEVER looks at the camera. And she barely stood still.
The dress and leggings are from Tea and I found a shimmery shirt from Target that looked similar to the one they showed underneath. Then I got her shoes from See Kai Run that coordinated nicely too.
Will wore the same vest and tie from last year because it still fit him and I LOVE it. He got a new button up shirt that was a little lighter than last years and coordinated nicer with Soph.
Ugh. One of these days I'm gonna' have to break down and pay for professional family pictures. They're nearly impossible for us.
So we usually just give up. :)
P.S. - Sophie's really into crossing her eyes lately because she knows it makes us laugh. It's totally creepy. :)
The Munoz fam.
Papa & Grandma with their uncooperative grandkids.
The whole Powers fam.
Steph, Jeremy and Callie.
The men... minus Grandpa King.
All the cousins... minus Megan & Erin. Erin's a doctor in San Diego, so they "improvised" her presence with a stethoscope and having her on speakerphone (hence the phone being held up). LOL
A Will sandwich.
Aunt Jan gave Sophie and Will some really cool Eric Carle coloring books and crayons and a game/puzzle for each. So nice!
Crazy eyes! They're going on adrenaline as the night goes on. :)
Our kids eat next to nothing when we're at a party. Doesn't matter what kind of function it is. So I usually feed them a substantial snack beforehand and then just let them eat whatever. Instead of an actual meal (which they picked at like birds), they survived on a giant cup of fruit towards the end of the night. Ha!
Love this pic. You can still see just a bit of smoke up by Craig's head from when the train blew it's horn and puffed its steam the last time around.
Back at home at a reasonable hour 9:45-ish?!!... Sophie tore off her final link on her countdown chain.
The kids picked out cookies for Santa.
And we worked together to pour some milk.
I know this is super dark (and I'm so bummed about that) but I'm posting it anyway because it was very sweet. Craig's hand was directly in front of the flash when he took this and he didn't realize until too late.
Since we were home so early and had everything super organized ahead of time, the rest of our preparations went fairly quickly. We finished watching a movie we'd started earlier and then each opened one gift from the other.
Such a great night!
