Little lady... looking a little mischevious.
But really she was doing nothing wrong. Lately, my trick to drawing out smiles for photos with her has been to repeatedly tell her NOT to smile. As in "whatever you do... DON'T smile!" So she was trying not to here. Works like a charm!
I dropped Sophie off to Nana's this morning to ride into school with her (as she does every Tuesday) and then I drove Will to school. I got to help out in his classroom and set up for their Kindergarten feast, before driving over to the preschool to watch Sophie's program. All before heading into work for the afternoon. :)
The preschoolers had lots of festive decorations made up for the program. So cute!
They'd also all taken part in preparing the snack that all of the guests and students were served. The kids made fruit kabobs, pumpkin bread and even butter! And don't you love the adorable Indian corn craft sitting above the plate? (Hint: it's a toilet paper tube inside!) And that's a "talking stick" (?), I think, next to the fork. It's to be passed around at gatherings and only the person holding the stick has the turn to talk. Each of the kids made these. :)
After the families and guests arrived in the hall, the children filed in wearing their pilgrim hats and bonnets and Indian feathers and said a prayer before we ate.
Then the kids excitedly found their guests and sat with them to eat the snack. It was nice to have some special time with Sophie while Will was in school.
Following our snack, the children found their places on the risers at the front once more and sang their Thanksgiving songs. VERY cute.
There were several older siblings present from the Mon/Wed/Fri class who had just had their own program the day before. So they came up to stand beside the risers and sing along with the younger class.
Playing their homemade Tom-Toms. :)
Our girlies.
And the girlies with Papa.
"Mrs. Skees" with Cora, Stella, Sophia & Mya.
Ditto... plus Charli and Lincoln at either end now. :)
Love you, Nana!
