On Tuesday the 17th, we drove out to the county fair after work and dinner.
It was nearing bedtime when we left, so it was bound to be another late night...
July 17th is my father in law's birthday and he bought tickets for us all to attend the rodeo at the fair that night. :) The kids were really looking forward to it, but we were all worried about the upper 90's forecast that was still supposed to be holding strong late into the evening. Thankfully, the rodeo started around 8:00 so the sun wasn't beating down overhead and the temperature was reasonably comfortable. A nice surprise!
Sophie and I were prepared with hair braids to keep the hair out of our face and off our neck. :)
Papa told Sophie to yell "let him go!" while we were waiting for another cowboy to get set up on his horse. These crack me up. Our daughter is such a lady. ;)
The "clown" that entertained us during the breaks between animals.
Papa & Will
Craig promised the kids a treat at the fair and they each got a bag of cotton candy... which they both finished in about five minutes. The ENTIRE bag. This was a mistake. They were on sugar overload and acting crazy after that! Drrrr.
But hey, once a year, right?
P.S. - Sophie is barefoot because somehow she snuck out the door wearing shoes that always give her blisters and neither of us noticed until we arrived at the fair. So she was carried towards the end of the night.
Happy Birthday, Big Papa!!
