Last weekend was really gorgeous both days.
I've been feeling lately like we aren't getting outside as much as I'd like and we haven't even gotten into the really cold days of winter yet. So I wanted to get out into nature for a bit and get some exercise with the kids while we were being blessed with these beautiful weather days.
Craig was off doing some electrical work for his cousin, so I packed up the kids, some water bottles and some wheels and headed to Maumee Bay State Park.
We took the hiking trail behind the big hill and I let them ride toward the lake a ways before turning around and heading back. Will has far more endurance than he had last year and Sophie has just not caught up to him in that regard yet. So I had to keep reminding him to wait for us and slow down a bit. (I was walking.)

After their ride out and back, we put the bikes back in the Jeep and headed for the big hill. Both kids love this steep climb. Sophie's determined to do it on her own and, once again, Will is quick and several paces ahead. We walked up the steeper side and then made our way down the more gradual grassy side.
Lake overlook.

They both love running down this side.
And I swear I wasn't instructing them to do this (lest you think I was a drill sergeant), but they wanted to go back up and down and up and down, over and over and over.
Even though this back side is more gradual, it's still pretty steep. ;)

What great exercise! I just kept thinking... "Man! They are gonna' nap well today!"

Finally, I called it quits 'cause I could see Sophie was getting tired. But I swear, Will could have gone for several more rounds! I love to see his increasing endurance!
