Papa's Birthday

Last Sunday evening, the kids and I joined my family for dinner to celebrate Papa/Dad's birthday. (Soph is watching the game - haha! And Will can't go anywhere without at least two empty Pez dispensers - preferably Thomas and the semi truck.)

Mom made us a Mexican food feast! Baked chimichangas and pulled pork tacos. I brought homemade guacamole and Casey brought her quesadilla maker and some fixings for the little kids.

Mom also made dad's favorite: carrot cake... in cupcake form. :)

The cream cheese frosting was a hit! We smeared some on our lips and gave kisses like that. ;)

After dinner, while we all were visiting, Sophia and Stella snuck up to the counter and finished off the fruit tray. :)

We all played a round of hide and seek for Papa to find us and then we suggested that he hide and we all look for him. Well he acted like "no, he didn't want to do that"... but then as we were chatting late, Papa disappeared and no one saw him leave. For a minute, we all got really worried! But then remembered the game and suggestion and laughed when the grandkids found him under the island counter, hidden by the chairs! He had been hiding for a while before we even realized that he was playing - haha!

Another pic by our photographer, Will. Wish I'd have known the picture was going to happen... I might have put on some make up and skipped the pony tail. :( At least I'm not giving a crotch shot like my brother, Zach. :) But I guess you'll have that when your photographer's only a little over three feet tall...

How 'bout a goofy one?

Happy Birthday, Papa!
