Fleitz Pumpkin Farm

Finally, our last event of the weekend was a trip to Fleitz Pumpkin Farm with our friends Tim, Angie, Eric and Andrea, and their kids. I know I've mentioned them before - we usually get together in the summer for a cookout at least once a year, but we've really been trying to make our visits more regular in the last year. Tim & Eric were two of Craig's best friends from high school and I get along really well with both of their wives. We always have such a great time when we hang out and ALWAYS wonder why we don't do it more often. We're tentatively planning on renting a vacation home together next summer somewhere in Michigan. Crossing my fingers that that works out!

From the top: Alec (3 mos older than Sophie) and his sister Katelyn (will be 7 in November), Will and Addyson (age 3 1/2) and Sophie... who's looking awfully confused. Haha! ;-)

Sometimes I think it's just my kids that never cooperate for a photo. Am I wrong here? How do you people do it? Is there bribery involved? ;-) Cause I'm not sure even that would work.
Addy & Sophie

Addy was such a great "big sister" to Sophie. She bravely lead her through the covered parts of the straw maze and always made sure she came out safely. :)

OMGosh. I could just eat Alec up. Those dimples kill me. I bet no one can say "no" to him. ;)

Typical Soph - sucking her thumb. At least she was guarding our pumpkin while doing it.

Checking out the goats.

No matter how big you get, you're still my lil' pumpkin, Sophie Grace.

A tunnel inside the free, mini corn maze.

Hay ride!

Addyson, Katelyn and Will.

My fave of the day.

Our two little pumpkins, riding along in the pumpkin cart.

I'm not overly impressed with any of my pictures from this visit. I definitely think a second trip will be in order... as usual. (We've never gone just once.)

Following our pumpkin shopping, we all gathered back at our house for a lasagna dinner that I prepared. Angie brought a delicious apple and cashew spinach salad with poppy seed dressing (my mom's recipe that I will be replicating soon - loved it!) and I also made... wait for it... pumpkin cake with vanilla ice cream and cider caramel sauce for dessert. Yummy!

Eric and Craig, racing Will's remote control Cars around the dining room table. :)

Alec's turn!

Addy changed into jammies before heading home and she looked so cute and festive!

Another fun get-together with the Mann's & Bachmayer's! Can't wait to do it again soon!
