It doesn't take a grader* to know that milk builds strong bones.
That's why our mom makes sure to serve us a small cup with every meal.
Packed with protein, vitamins A&D and calcium,
milk keeps us strong and energized for red rover, tag, monkey bars or just plain ole' running & jumping!
* "Grader" is an elementary school term that refers to any student above the age of Kindergarten. There are "Kindergarteners" and "graders". LOL Don't you feel hip now? ;)
P.S. - We've recently switched to whole milk for the kids and noticed these cute little mustaches showing up on their upper lips frequently at meal time. (Lower fat milk isn't quite as white as the signature Got Milk? ad depiction.) So Craig and I were cracking up over our own little Got Milk? babes and decided to take pictures. ;) Haha!

Adorable milk mustaches!!! I'm curious, why the switch to whole?
Hi Melissa! No one specific reason, I guess. Just the older I get and the more I think about our food choices, the more particular I am with what we're consuming. I've gotten to be this way with all dairy in fact. In it's natural/original state... it's high in fat! And not meant to be consumed in huge servings. Also when stripping the fat away from the product, other imporant nutrients are stripped away too and then needing to be added back in artificially to bring some of the "health factors" back into it. (This was the original reason for our switch from skim to 1% years ago too.) So why not just use the full fat things and keep portions in check? Sour cream, cream cheese, heavy cream, milk, cheese, yogurt, butter - I buy them all "whole" or full fat. I'd also love to buy organic dairy products, but haven't yet convinced Craig to pay $6/gal for milk. ;) My kids are not really big milk drinkers. They may have about 3oz or so at both breakfast and dinner and that's it. Sophie also eats plain, whole milk yogurt (Will won't touch it) and has since she was a baby. So I think the extra fat is is good for them to keep them satisfied longer and simply because they need it! Craig and I still mostly drink 1% but who knows... that may change too! I usually keep my cup at ~8oz at breakfast and sometimes dinner and I drink water all the rest of the time. I'm rambling... :) But I guess that's just how I roll re: food. Making small changes here and there. I'm not an overhaul kind of person. :)
