As soon as the weather starts to warm up, the Riedeman family throws open their garage doors, breaks out the folding tables & chairs, and invites everyone over for potluck. This year, we kicked off the season with Memorial Day at the Zellers on Monday, May 26th.
Here are some photos.
But first, let's take a flashback to Memorial Day last year, 11 days before Will was born: Holy belly!

And now this year:

Craig's cousin Carrie has a little boy named Dalton. They live in Michigan so we rarely see them. It's so cute that Dalton & Will are finally old enough to notice and "play" with each other. Believe it or not, Will's older than Dalton... by almost 2 months!

And here are the grandmas with the boys:

The next family picnic was at our house. On Sunday, June 8th, we celebrated Will's first birthday! It was 92 degrees outside and very windy. At 11:02 a.m., before everyone arrived, Craig and I celebrated the exact time of Will's arrival one year ago with lots of hugs and kisses for our little boy. Then later, the garage was decorated with a farm animal/cowboy theme and we grilled out.

Eating his green beans while he waits for his burger:

"Happy Birthday to you!" We stripped him down to his diaper for cake:

After a bath immediately following the cake, we moved inside to open gifts:

Following the birthday party, we celebrated Father's Day at both Craig's parents house and my sister Casey's house on Sunday, June 15th. That was a perfect weather day! It was so enjoyable and peaceful to eat outside under a shade tree and then lay in the hammock. The temperature was perfect. The company was nice and I just remember thinking that this is what Sundays are supposed to be like - relaxing with family. Will tried all kinds of new foods that day including German potato salad, baked beans, bratwurst, and raspberries. Mmm! And Craig's mom brought out a blanket and some of Craig's old toys for Will to play with.
Here is Craig's dad and sister with Will:

So we've had a nice kick-off to the summer and I'm sure there's several more picnics to look forward to.
