InstaFriday

Bit of a shorter Instagram week...

Saturday morning.  Little sister checking out her own books at the library.
Saturday evening.  Friends over for UFC.  Campfire cookies from Pinterest for snacking.  Basically chocolate chip with marshmallows inside... then dolloped onto graham squares before baking so the cookie "sticks" to the graham.
Sunday.  At the top of the hill at Maumee Bay.  Preparing to run down.
Bros birthday din din.
Happy Birthday, Johnny Appleseed!  Honoring the father of thousands of apple trees across the U.S. with a "pan hat" and barefeet.  We later borrowed a book from the library to learn more interesting tid bits about this odd fellow.
Another pic of this heavenly comfort food dish.  Seriously, people.  Sharp white cheddar, macaroni noodles, crisped bacon, sauteed onion and some thyme.  What more could you possibly want out of dinner?
Sorry for the uber brief week in pictures.
Happy Friday, ya'll!

Sunday supper this week was at my mom and dad's in honor of both my brothers' birthdays.  Delicious dinner and dessert with the fam.  The ENTIRE fam.  It was a monumental baby step... Craig attended.  No long story to follow this time, but I'm praying for some bridge building here.
Our four favorite kiddos:
Dessert time!

Dinners this week:
1) Tyler Florence's Ultimate Beef Stew with sliced tomatoes, spelt bread and a slice of cheese on the side.
2) Tyler Florence's Mac 'N Cheese with Bacon and Cheese with Concord grapes (from our not-yet-posted CSA bag) on the side.

Also this week, I made:

Fall Adventures: A Hike at Our Favorite Nature Spot

On Sunday, the 23rd, the kids and I headed out to Maumee Bay for a stop in the nature center, a hike on the boardwalk and a few runs up and down the hill.  Whenever we're in need of some fresh air and exercise, this is our favorite spot to visit.
Some Monarch chrysalides.

We heart snakes!

In case you doubted, the Transformer sound effects and two-finger guns follow us even into nature.  ;)

Back home, we took some more pictures in front of the corn field before heading inside.

Not sure where the hands-on-hips business came from?  She's never done this before.

Loving fall!
