Sophia Grace at 4 1/2
At 4 1/2, Sophie:
1) still sucks her thumb
2) still eats in slooooow motion
3) is no longer wearing Pull-Ups at night and staying dry! Yay!
4) is suddenly more afraid of the dark and often falls asleep in her brother's room and then gets transferred back to her own
5) LOVES books - being read to or making up/sounding out words on her own
6) has been able to sit very well in a movie theater since about age 4
7) naps most days for about 1-2 hours, occasionally more; can survive without naps now but is usually very difficult by early evening if missed
8) is the QUEEN of wedgies - I swear she is the most sensitive underwear-wearer EVER! - if it isn't just right, she freaks out that she "has a wedgie!!!"
9) loves yogurt, apples & applesauce, berries, "smoodies", mac 'n cheese, raw green beans, carrots
10) hates when we count to three as a discipline/warning - it is completely ineffective with her because she panics and freaks out at the pressure and then never cooperates with whatever you want her to do or not do
11) has gotten more mouthy and started using a braggy/snobby voice with her nose in the air at times
12) works the TV remote and navigates to and through Netflix easily (meanwhile, I still don't know how... seriously)
13) loves school, her teachers and her friends
14) loves to sing and dance
15) falls asleep at night immediately when nap is missed, but remains awake in bed until between 10-12 when she does nap; also takes increasingly longer to fall asleep for nap... so we are on the brink here, but still refusing to drop it as it's most often beneficial and necessary for her overall
16) is 41 1/2" tall - up about 1 1/2" in six months
17) is consistently the biggest source of frustration with behavior and yet the biggest charmer in the house - is that a youngest thing?
Happy half birthday, sweetness!
Quick Trip to the Orchard
Another quick visit to Erie Orchard for a second, big bag full of golden delicious apples. This time, just my boy and me. It was a gorgeous fall day and many of the apple varieties were already picked over, but our favorites were still plentiful.
Will was an awesome picking partner. He selected the best trees, climbed the ladder and handed them down to me.
For some reason, Will had it in his head that he wanted to eat a red delicious apple while we were there. So we looked and looked and it seemed those trees were almost completely picked over. I asked him: "Maybe we can find another variety. Did you just want it to be red?" And he said: "And DELICIOUS!" Haha! And then miraculously, the very next tree had exactly ONE perfect looking red delicious apple just waiting for little hands to pluck and eat it.
Easy to please.
Quick stop at the play area on the way out.
And a quick thumbs DOWN to Ford products. Hahahaha!! According to Will & Craig, we're Chevy people.

35
Craig turned 35 yesterday!!
We celebrated with breakfast in bed and homemade cards from the kids.
Plus a couple of gifts to open... all before his toes touched the floor that morning.
In the evening, we invited the Munoz family over for a chili and cornbread dinner.
And I made my first ever double layer cake... well, first that actually looked pretty. Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.
Kelly's birthday is Monday the 21st, so we sang to both of them and they blew out the candles.
There was some cousin play and hanging out that followed.
Haha - Sophie's face in this pic.
We celebrated a second time at Grandma & Papa's house with another dinner and chocolate cake too.
Yum. Birthdays are delicious!
