Crayola Cousins

Get ready for a whole lotta' color and a whole lotta' cute!
This year for Halloween, Will and Sophie, along with their cousins Mya, Stella, Cecilia and Veronica, dressed up in Crayola Crayon costumes!  It goes without saying that we had a blast with this photo op.  ;)

Halloween week brought a blustery cold and rainy storm front.  And so, wimpy though it may be, many of the towns shifted their trick-or-treating schedules to the weekend.  Plans that we had previously arranged with a larger group ended up falling apart due to scheduling conflicts, so we at least arranged for the Crayola cousins to gather for a photo op and play date on that Wednesday night.

These first bunch were taken while waiting for the Munoz family to arrive.  Sophie wasn't in a smiling mood apparently, but I still love the shots.

Casey and Wes are infamous for their impeccably coordinated dressing skills in our family.  Long before they had kids, the lovebirds were forever dressing to compliment each other no matter what the occasion.  And so it should come as no shock, that Stella and Mya have perfectly matched socks for their appropriate costume color this evening.  :)

I love me some red and yellow!!

Why can't my kids learn to smile on command like my adorable nieces??
Little Dub and Big Dub having a little tussle.  It seems Little Dub was trying to "color" on Big Dub with the tip of his hat.  :)

And then Celia and Veronica arrived and we had our whole box of crayons!  I know, I know.  They're stinkin' cute.  Can you even stand it?

Following pictures, we laid out a floor picnic for the kids and we all ate pizza for dinner.

Good times.

On Friday, we headed over to Grandma & Papa Riedeman's house for another brief photo op there and then Grandma had little treat bags for each of the grandkids.

Afterward, Grandma whipped out her cotton candy machine and made each of the kids a little puff of the sweet stuff on a stick.  What fun!
And finally, Saturday arrived and we dressed for a final time to trick-or-treat in the neighborhood.  Because of the last minute schedule change, many of our usual trick-or-treating pals were unable to join us.  There were a lot of "we'll see..." responses while trying to make plans and Craig and I assumed we'd be just a four-some this year for the neighborhood march.  But at the last minute, we learned that Rethmans planned to join us and we were delighted to include them.  :)
Note:  some cold weather layers were added under the costumes this night and you might notice that Stella has a navy blue coat under her Crayon sheeth and Mya a lime green jacket that coordinates with the "paper" part of her Crayon.  Again, with the perfect coordination.  ;)  Casey and Wes were destined to be parents of twins - they always have a reason to coordinate their children this way!

At school, Wes's teacher friends dressed as crayons too, so Casey borrowed from one of them and Wes and Casey showed up in costume too!

InstaFriday

A week in Instagram snapshots!  These are my favorite posts.  :)

Not sure why this picture got scrunched.  ??  This is the movie version of one of our favorite books.  We LOVE it!  It's on our Advent countdown list and we are also giving it as a gift this Christmas.  We highly recommend it if you haven't read it.
Waiting patiently for my oil to be changed on Saturday afternoon.  Not at all minding the chance to read instead of clean my house.  :)
